- Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.”
- But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God.
- Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
- Those who believe in him are not condemned; but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
- Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?”
- Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
- Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great:
He was revealed in flesh,
vindicated in spirit,
seen by angels,
proclaimed among Gentiles,
believed in throughout the world,
taken up in glory. - Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they owned was held in common.
- Now I would remind you, brothers and sisters, of the good news that I proclaimed to you, which you in turn received, in which also you stand, through which also you are being saved, if you hold firmly to the message that I proclaimed to you—unless you have come to believe in vain.
- So we have known and believe the love that God has for us.
God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. - I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; yet we know that a person is justified not by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ. And we have come to believe in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by doing the works of the law, because no one will be justified by the works of the law.
- By faith he received power of procreation, even though he was too old—and Sarah herself was barren—because he considered him faithful who had promised.
- So those who welcomed his message were baptized, and that day about three thousand persons were added.
- For we have become partners of Christ, if only we hold our first confidence firm to the end.
- Well then, does God supply you with the Spirit and work miracles among you by your doing the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?
- For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people.”
