- Or can one walk on hot coals,
and his feet not be scorched? - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me? - Who can find a worthy woman?
For her value is far above rubies. - So that with good courage we say,
“The Lord is my helper. I will not fear.
What can man do to me?” - What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
- How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word. - In God, I praise his word.
In God, I put my trust.
I will not be afraid.
What can flesh do to me? - Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
- Can anyone forbid these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just like us.
- “Can anyone hide himself in secret places
so that I can’t see him?” says Yahweh.
“Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says Yahweh. - I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
- No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon.
- If a man says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who doesn’t love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
- The heart is deceitful above all things
and it is exceedingly corrupt.
Who can know it?
“I, Yahweh, search the mind.
I try the heart,
even to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his doings.” - Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb?
Yes, these may forget,
yet I will not forget you!
Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.
Your walls are continually before me. - Where could I go from your Spirit?
Or where could I flee from your presence?
If I ascend up into heaven, you are there.
If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow.
- Those who love your law have great peace.
Nothing causes them to stumble. - For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.
- Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
- What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
- If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
- He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in their hearts, yet so that man can’t find out the work that God has done from the beginning even to the end.
- It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife,
but every fool will be quarreling.
Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and Spirit, he can’t enter into God’s Kingdom.”He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress.
I will not be shaken. God, you are my God.
I will earnestly seek you.
My soul thirsts for you.
My flesh longs for you,
in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.Next verse! With image
