Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear him.
So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.
He will again take pity on us; He will trample on our wrongdoings. Yes, You will cast all their sins Into the depths of the sea.He will again have compassion upon us; he will tread our iniquities under foot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. And I will strengthen the house of Judah, And I will save the house of Joseph, And I will bring them back, Because I have had compassion on them; And they will be as though I had not rejected them, For I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion.No one who conceals transgressions will prosper, but one who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.
This is what the Lord of armies has said: ‘Dispense true justice and practice kindness and compassion each to his brother; and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’Thus says the Lord of hosts: Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another; do not oppress the widow, the orphan, the alien, or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.
Now go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion, rather than sacrifice,’ for I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.
To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, loving, compassionate, and humble.Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.Let the wicked forsake their way, and the unrighteous their thoughts; let them return to the Lord, that he may have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, For they have been from of old. But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?How does God's love abide in anyone who has the world's goods and sees a brother or sister in need and yet refuses help?
The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy.The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if you return to him.
The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
“And tear your heart and not merely your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in mercy And relenting of catastrophe.Rend your hearts and not your clothing. Return to the Lord, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love, and relents from punishing.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.
