- Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me. - He reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what lies in darkness,
and light dwells with him. - These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.

he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
