- Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.
Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord! - As in water face reflects face,
so the heart of man reflects the man. - But I will sing of your strength;
I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning.
For you have been to me a fortress
and a refuge in the day of my distress. - Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for from it flow the springs of life. - Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.
- For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
for length of days and years of life
and peace they will add to you. - Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they shall see God. - Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,

your walls are continually before me. - So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. - Delight yourself in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - What is desired in a man is steadfast love,
and a poor man is better than a liar. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me. - If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
- Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. - So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom. - I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.
- My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
- For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.
- The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - The wise of heart will receive commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
