- The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
- As in water face reflects face,
so the heart of man reflects the man. - Search me, O God, and know my heart!

And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting! - Keep your heart with all vigilance,

- So teach us to number our days
that we may get a heart of wisdom. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;
the heart of the wicked is of little worth. - By which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
- The wise of heart will receive commandments,
but a babbling fool will come to ruin. - Behold, God is my helper;
the Lord is the upholder of my life. - Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me. - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but the Lord weighs the heart. - If you will not listen, if you will not take it to heart to give honor to my name, says the Lord of hosts, then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have already cursed them, because you do not lay it to heart.
- But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
- My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight;
keep them within your heart. - The precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes. - The heart is deceitful above all things,
and desperately sick;
who can understand it?
“I the Lord search the heart
and test the mind,
to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his deeds.” - Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
but those who plan peace have joy. - The heart of man plans his way,
but the Lord establishes his steps. - A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
