- Before destruction the heart of man is proud,
but before honor is humility. - Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
but a kind word makes it glad. - The heart is deceitful above all things
and it is exceedingly corrupt.
Who can know it?
“I, Yahweh, search the mind.
I try the heart,
even to give every man according to his ways,
according to the fruit of his doings.” - Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
- Turn at my reproof.
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you.
I will make known my words to you. - You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
- “If you will not listen, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to my name,” says Yahweh of Armies, “then I will send the curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Indeed, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart.”
- For even though the fig tree doesn’t flourish,
nor fruit be in the vines,
the labor of the olive fails,
the fields yield no food,
the flocks are cut off from the fold,
and there is no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in Yahweh.
I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! - Blessed are those who keep his statutes,
who seek him with their whole heart. - Wait for Yahweh.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage.
Yes, wait for Yahweh. - Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who hope in Yahweh. - I made a covenant with my eyes;
how then should I look lustfully at a young woman? - Yahweh God made a woman from the rib which he had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh. She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of Man.” Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.
- Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil,
but joy comes to the promoters of peace. - Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God.
- The wise in heart accept commandments,
but a chattering fool will fall. - Yahweh’s precepts are right, rejoicing the heart.
Yahweh’s commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes. - Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
- For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.
- Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
- Go your way—eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.
- The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
- But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.
- “Yet even now,” says Yahweh, “turn to me with all your heart,
and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.” - Therefore remove sorrow from your heart,
and put away evil from your flesh;
for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.
