- My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me. - The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid? - Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever. - I love you, Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. - You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God.
- A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
- By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life. - Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
- My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart
you, God, will not despise. - Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave the guilt of my sin. - In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
- My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart. - Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked. - Get wisdom, get understanding;
do not forget my words or turn away from them. - Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. - Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
- My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge. - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me. - Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom. - One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple. - Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign Lord.’
- I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors:
You have given me wisdom and power,
you have made known to me what we asked of you,
you have made known to us the dream of the king. - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
- Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
