| God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? | Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! | Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. | Whoever denies the Son doesn’t have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also. |
| A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. | A cheerful heart makes good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. |
