to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? - I will lift up my eyes to the hills.
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from Yahweh,
who made heaven and earth. - But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.
- But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
- In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience,
but he who restrains his lips does wisely. - Everyone therefore who hears these words of mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock.
- Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.
- A truthful witness will not lie,
but a false witness pours out lies. - Love is patient and is kind. Love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil.
- But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom and continues, not being a hearer who forgets but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
- But if the wicked turns from all his sins that he has committed, and keeps all my statutes, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die.
- Love doesn’t harm a neighbor. Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.
- Surely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing,
unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets. - Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?
- As you don’t know what is the way of the wind,
nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child;
even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. - He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me isn’t worthy of me.
- Now, Israel, what does Yahweh your God require of you, but to fear Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, and to serve Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, to keep Yahweh’s commandments and statutes, which I command you today for your good?
- He humbled you, allowed you to be hungry, and fed you with manna, which you didn’t know, neither did your fathers know, that he might teach you that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of Yahweh’s mouth.
- But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
- Woe to him who strives with his Maker—
a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth!
Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’
or your work, ‘He has no hands’? - He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned.
- Doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
- For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.
- Yahweh is righteous in all his ways,
and gracious in all his works. - For Yahweh’s word is right.
All his work is done in faithfulness. - Don’t let him who eats despise him who doesn’t eat. Don’t let him who doesn’t eat judge him who eats, for God has accepted him.
- He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”
- God is not a man, that he should lie,
nor a son of man, that he should repent.
Has he said, and he won’t do it?
Or has he spoken, and he won’t make it good? - But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.
- And hope doesn’t disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
- He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
- See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
- These you may eat of all that are in the waters: you may eat whatever has fins and scales. You shall not eat whatever doesn’t have fins and scales. It is unclean to you.
- I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
- For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
- We can’t reach the Almighty.
He is exalted in power.
In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress. - The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back,
but the righteous give generously. - Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism; but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.”
