- He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

- He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God? - Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
- For if there is first a willing mind, it is accepted according to what one has, and not according to what he does not have.
- But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
- And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
- But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
- The wicked borrows and does not repay,
But the righteous shows mercy and gives. - Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
- He covets greedily all day long,
But the righteous gives and does not spare.
