| And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. |
| Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. | Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, as indeed you are doing. |

| Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. | Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his clothing. |
| Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. | Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. |
| But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. | But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be done in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. |

| But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. | But those who look into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and persevere, being not hearers who forget but doers who act—they will be blessed in their doing. |
| But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. | But even if you do suffer for doing what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear, and do not be intimidated. |
| Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. | Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. |
| And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. | If any of you sin without knowing it, doing any of the things that by the Lord's commandments ought not to be done, you have incurred guilt, and are subject to punishment. |
| Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. | Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. |
| For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. | For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God— not the result of works, so that no one may boast. |
| Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. | Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things. |
| I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. | I delight to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart. |
| Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. | Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil. |

| Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands? | Woe to you who strive with your Maker, earthen vessels with the potter! Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”? or “Your work has no handles”? |
| But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. | But those who do what is true come to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that their deeds have been done in God. |
| This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. | Live by the Spirit, I say, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. |
| For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. | For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, busy with this very thing. |
| Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. | Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. |
| Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. | For “no human being will be justified in his sight” by deeds prescribed by the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. |
| And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house. | I did not shrink from doing anything helpful, proclaiming the message to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house. |
| But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. | Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today. |
