FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU TO AND WILL (2/4)

  • For you formed my inmost being.
You knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to you,
for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
    Your works are wonderful.
My soul knows that very well.
  • Know therefore that Yahweh your God himself is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness to a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments.
  • Peter opened his mouth and said, “Truly I perceive that God doesn’t show favoritism; but in every nation he who fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.”
  • We are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers, even as it is appropriate, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each and every one of you toward one another abounds.
  • For who is God, except Yahweh?
Who is a rock, besides our God?
  • I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.
  • For who is God, besides Yahweh?
Who is a rock, besides our God?
  • God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn’t do it.
  • Who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal.
  • Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
  • There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
  • Go your way—eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.
  • Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you.
  • Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
  • How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
  • “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
  • You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world.
  • If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.
  • For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory.
  • Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
  • Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight; for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.
  • In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety, not with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness.
  • These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
  • Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
  • But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
