Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him. A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. | Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Exalt Him who rides through the deserts, Whose name is the Lord, and be jubilant before Him. A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, Is God in His holy dwelling. |
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. | Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. |

The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us. | May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; may He not leave us nor forsake us. |
Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. | Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” |
Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. | Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen. |
And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. | Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. |
Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. | Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. |
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. | When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, namely, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, He will testify about Me. |
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. | Therefore you shall be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. |
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. | Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. |
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. | A wise son makes a father glad, But a foolish son is a grief to his mother. |
Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. | Because I saved the poor who cried for help, And the orphan who had no helper. The blessing of the one who was about to perish came upon me, And I made the widow’s heart sing for joy. |
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. | But as for you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. |
For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. | For if you truly amend your ways and your deeds, if you truly practice justice between a person and his neighbor, if you do not oppress the stranger, the orphan, or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place, nor follow other gods to your own ruin, then I will let you live in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever. |
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. | Hear my prayer, Lord, and listen to my cry for help; Do not be silent to my tears; For I am a stranger with You, One who lives abroad, like all my fathers. |
Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. | So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be to you; just as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” |
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. | But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. |

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. | And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. | But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you. |
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. | And that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. |
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. | I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever. |
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. | If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him. |
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. | But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots, dividing His garments among themselves. |
