- There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
- By humility and the fear of the Lord
Are riches and honor and life. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
And before honor is humility. - Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
Than great treasure with trouble. - As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy. - And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
- God shall bless us,
And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. - To him who is afflicted, kindness should be shown by his friend,
Even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. - The fear of the Lord is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate. - The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.
- Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments.
His praise endures forever. - For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand,
Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? - Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength to your bones. - Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident. - But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”
- For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
- And the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is this day.
- Now therefore, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take care and do it, for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes.
So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us. He who is slow to wrath has great understanding,
But he who is impulsive exalts folly.Next verse!With image
