- There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
- God shall bless us;
let all the ends of the earth fear him! - The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
is riches and honor and life. - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can man do to me? - And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
- The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom,
and humility comes before honor. - He who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty. - Better is a little with the fear of the Lord
than great treasure and trouble with it. - The fear of man lays a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his steadfast love. - As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. - The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and perverted speech I hate. - For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
- For I, the Lord your God,
hold your right hand;
it is I who say to you, “Fear not,
I am the one who helps you.” - Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
- The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
- So we can confidently say,
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear;
what can man do to me?” - Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all those who practice it have a good understanding.
His praise endures forever! - Though an army encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
yet I will be confident. - Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your flesh
and refreshment to your bones. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - But Jesus on hearing this answered him, “Do not fear; only believe, and she will be well.”
Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.A rich man's wealth is his strong city,
and like a high wall in his imagination.
