- There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
- By humility and the fear of the Lord
are riches, and honour, and life. - God shall bless us;
and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom;
and before honour is humility. - The Lord is on my side; I will not fear:
what can man do unto me? - And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
- Like as a father pitieth his children,
so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. - To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend;
but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. - Better is little with the fear of the Lord
than great treasure and trouble therewith. - Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him,
upon them that hope in his mercy. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction. - The fear of man bringeth a snare:
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe. - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. - The fear of the Lord is to hate evil:
pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way,
and the froward mouth, do I hate. - For I the Lord thy God
will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee, Fear not;
I will help thee. - Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
- Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
- The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:
a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:
his praise endureth for ever. - For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
- Teach me thy way, O Lord;
I will walk in thy truth:
unite my heart to fear thy name. - Be not wise in thine own eyes:
fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel,
and marrow to thy bones. - So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
- Though an host should encamp against me,
my heart shall not fear:
though war should rise against me,
in this will I be confident. - The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid? - Oh how great is thy goodness,
which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee;
which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee
before the sons of men!
Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.For a thousand years in thy sight
are but as yesterday when it is past,
and as a watch in the night. He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.Next verse!With image
