- In Christ
and through his blood
we have redemption
and the forgiveness of our sins.
In accord with the riches of his grace. - He has rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

for your delight is in bestowing mercy. - For the Lord, your God, is gracious and compassionate, and he will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.

and I made no attempt to conceal my guilt.
I said, “I will confess my offenses to the Lord,”

and turn back to the Lord, your God.
For he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and always prepared to relent from punishing. - Repent, therefore, and be converted so that your sins may be wiped away.
- Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the presbyters of the Church so that they may pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.
- But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.
- I shall forgive them for their wicked deeds,
and I shall remember their sins no more. - God has overlooked the times of human ignorance, but now he commands people everywhere to repent.

says the Lord.
Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be like snow.
Though they are as red as crimson,
they shall become as white as wool. - Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
- Therefore, I tell you that every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
- You will again show us compassion
and wash away our guilt;
you will cast all our sins
into the depths of the sea. - However, the gift is not like the transgression. For if the transgression of one man led to the death of the many, how much greater was the overflowing effect of the grace of God and the gift of the one man Jesus Christ that has abounded for the many.
- Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.
- Prepare in advance what you want to say,
and return to the Lord.
Say to him, “Take away all guilt
and give us what is good,
so that we may present as offerings
the bullocks from our stalls.” - When God saw by their actions that they had turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not inflict upon them the punishment that he had threatened.
