- Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
- May he grant your heart’s desires
and make all your plans succeed. - Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.
- Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.
- When you make a promise to God, don’t delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him.
- All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.’” - Love does no wrong to others, so love fulfills the requirements of God’s law.
- The husband should fulfill his wife’s sexual needs, and the wife should fulfill her husband’s needs. The wife gives authority over her body to her husband, and the husband gives authority over his body to his wife.
- But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise,
and I will fulfill all my vows.
For my salvation comes from the Lord alone. - The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don’t abandon me, for you made me. - Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. - God is not a man, so he does not lie.
He is not human, so he does not change his mind.
Has he ever spoken and failed to act?
Has he ever promised and not carried it through? - So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
- “The time promised by God has come at last!” he announced. “The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!”
- For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
- Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.
- For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.
- He proclaimed his covenant—the Ten Commandments—which he commanded you to keep, and which he wrote on two stone tablets.
- All that time I had eaten no rich food. No meat or wine crossed my lips, and I used no fragrant lotions until those three weeks had passed.
- You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
- Therefore, tell them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: No more delay! I will now do everything I have threatened. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!’
- The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
- Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.
- I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.
- He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
Soon I will die, going the way of everything on earth. Deep in your hearts you know that every promise of the Lord your God has come true. Not a single one has failed!The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right;
his ears are open to their cries for help. I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?Next verse! With image
