- But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
- But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die. - The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
- Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life. - Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. - As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart. - I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.
- He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.
- Surely God is my help;
the Lord is the one who sustains me. - Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
- So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless. - Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
- It is a trap to dedicate something rashly
and only later to consider one’s vows.
