- Trust in the Lord, and do good;
dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. - I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
- Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! - And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.”
- Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever! - But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction.
- Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity! - I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” - Then you will understand righteousness and justice
and equity, every good path. - Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
- A joyful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. - But test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
- He who finds a wife finds a good thing
and obtains favor from the Lord. - The Lord is good,
a stronghold in the day of trouble;
he knows those who take refuge in him. - That according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love.
- How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings good news,
who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness,
who publishes salvation,
who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” - The young lions suffer want and hunger;
but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. - Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
- Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.
- For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things. - Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
- Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
when it is in your power to do it. - For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.
- For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving,
abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
