- But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
My foot has held fast to His steps;
I have kept His way and not turned aside. - The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed. - There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
- And if you say in your heart, ‘How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
- As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us. - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound. - He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.
- As a father pities his children,
So the Lord pities those who fear Him. - If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
- Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.
- Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.
- Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
- Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
- But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
- The vine has dried up,
And the fig tree has withered;
The pomegranate tree,
The palm tree also,
And the apple tree—
All the trees of the field are withered;
Surely joy has withered away from the sons of men. - Who has performed and done it,
Calling the generations from the beginning?
‘I, the Lord, am the first;
And with the last I am He.’ - And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.
- I love the Lord, because He has heard
My voice and my supplications.
Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live. - Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
- You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.
- For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
- When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it;
For He has no pleasure in fools.
Pay what you have vowed. - For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.
- There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
