- Sing to God! Sing praises to his name!
Extol him who rides on the clouds:
to Yah, his name!
Rejoice before him!
A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows,
is God in his holy habitation. - For,
“He who would love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit.
Let him turn away from evil and do good.
Let him seek peace and pursue it.” - They set up over his head the accusation against him written, “THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
- This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
- Surely he has borne our sickness
and carried our suffering;
yet we considered him plagued,
struck by God, and afflicted. - For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.
- But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
- Yahweh your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you if you return to him.
- If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother.
- Only take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of Yahweh commanded you, to love Yahweh your God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commandments, to hold fast to him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
- Only fear Yahweh, and serve him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things he has done for you.
- The father of the righteous has great joy.
Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him. - Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.”
- Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
but Yahweh delivers him out of them all. - Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
- A man’s pride brings him low,
but one of lowly spirit gains honor. - Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
- And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
- He reveals the deep and secret things.
He knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him. - But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.
- If anyone serves me, let him follow me. Where I am, there my servant will also be. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.
- For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection; knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
- Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
- This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
- He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only born Son of God.
