And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints.
He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart; He who does not backbite with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend.
But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him.
Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy.Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy.
Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.As His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.
Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward is abomination to the Lord: but his secret is with the righteous.Do not envy the oppressor, And choose none of his ways; For the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, But His secret counsel is with the upright.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.
Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments.
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.Also for Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.’ ”
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.
