Chinese (traditional)- For his anger lasts only a moment,
but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning. - He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he. - But from everlasting to everlasting
the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children’s children—
with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts. - In my distress I called to the Lord;
I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears. - Observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go.
- Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling. - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
- A wise son brings joy to his father,
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. - He builds his lofty palace in the heavens
and sets its foundation on the earth;
he calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out over the face of the land—
the Lord is his name. - If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
- I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope. - See, the enemy is puffed up;
his desires are not upright—
but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. - “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
- For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
- Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name. - Can a man walk on hot coals
without his feet being scorched? - You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.
- Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,
but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. - In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.
- He sent out his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave. - I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
- I will extol the Lord at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips. - But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
- The Lord bless you and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace. - After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
