I am the alpha and omega (2/4)

  • He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
    I will be exalted among the nations,
    I will be exalted in the earth.”
  • And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
  • I, even I, am he who comforts you.
    Who are you that you fear mere mortals,
    human beings who are but grass.
  • Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.”
  • I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
  • He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
    Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.
  • Who has done this and carried it through,
    calling forth the generations from the beginning?
    I, the Lord—with the first of them
    and with the last—I am he.
  • Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done.
  • I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
  • “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
  • So do not fear, for I am with you;
    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
    I will strengthen you and help you;
    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
  • Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
  • Even to your old age and gray hairs
    I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
    I have made you and I will carry you;
    I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
  • That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
  • ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord,
    ‘I will frown on you no longer,
    for I am faithful,’ declares the Lord,
    ‘I will not be angry forever.’
  • But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
  • For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.
  • Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
  • Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
    And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
  • I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
  • Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
  • If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
  • Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
  • Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
  • I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

Bible verse of the day

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
