- For I hold you by your right hand—
I, the Lord your God.
And I say to you,
‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’ - I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
- You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.
- I said to the Lord, “You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you.” - Whom have I in heaven but you?
I desire you more than anything on earth. - You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you.
- Jesus responded, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?”
- But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!
- And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.
- But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.
- I will teach you wisdom’s ways
and lead you in straight paths. - I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.
- Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.”
- The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with him! Whenever you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will abandon you.
- In those days when you pray, I will listen.
- Not at all! And you will perish, too, unless you repent of your sins and turn to God.
- I lift my hands to you in prayer.
I thirst for you as parched land thirsts for rain. - Others were given in exchange for you.
I traded their lives for yours
because you are precious to me.
You are honored, and I love you. - I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.
- You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
- As I learn your righteous regulations,
I will thank you by living as I should! - When you go through deep waters,
I will be with you.
When you go through rivers of difficulty,
you will not drown.
When you walk through the fire of oppression,
you will not be burned up;
the flames will not consume you. - I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!
- Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you.
