- You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
- “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
- Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.

let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
let him turn away from evil and do good;
let him seek peace and pursue it.” - He who withholds kindness from a friend
forsakes the fear of the Almighty. - Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
- The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool. - Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
- And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
- Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
- Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
- My son, if your heart is wise,
my heart too will be glad. - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
- Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
- Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
- You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him. You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
- So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
- Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?
