He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. | He who believes in him is not judged. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. | Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” |
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. | Now accept one who is weak in faith, but not for disputes over opinions. |
And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. | If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector. |
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. | But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience. |
Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. | Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! |
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. | For if we live, we live to the Lord. Or if we die, we die to the Lord. If therefore we live or die, we are the Lord’s. |
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. | If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit. |
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. | Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I don’t go away, the Counselor won’t come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. |
It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. | This saying is trustworthy: “For if we died with him, we will also live with him.” |
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? | What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? |
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. | For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. |
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. | Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. |
And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. | This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother. |
And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great. | And said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one will be great.” |
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. | If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. |

Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? | Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believed, you would see God’s glory?” |
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. | By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. |
No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. | No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us. |
He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. | He who walks blamelessly walks surely, but he who perverts his ways will be found out. |
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up. |
For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. | For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings, if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor; if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt, then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forever more. |
