If anyone (3/4)

  • Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
  • Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”
  • But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
  • A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—
and how good is a timely word!
  • There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
  • Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
  • Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.
  • You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
  • If you love me, keep my commands.
  • Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
  • Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
  • Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.”
  • No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
  • But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
  • Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.
  • So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
  • If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
  • For, “Whoever would love life
    and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
    They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.”
  • Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.
  • If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.
  • Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips
and spreads slander is a fool.
  • Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
  • Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
  • Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?

Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
