| Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. | When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. | When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. |
| Jesus looked at them and said, “With man it is impossible, but not with God. For all things are possible with God.” | And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. |
| To make an apt answer is a joy to a man, and a word in season, how good it is! | A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! |
| Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. | Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. |
| Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off. | So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off. |
| Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. | Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. |
| And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. | And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. |
