And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”
The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
It is a trap to dedicate something rashly and only later to consider one’s vows.Don’t trap yourself by making a rash promise to God and only later counting the cost.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.
Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.
So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on quarreling.
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.
When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!
I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth.
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.

The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.
