| If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. | If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. |
| These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. | I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. |

| You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. | You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. |
| If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. | If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. |

| And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment. | When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment. |
| Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. | Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete. |

| I am not asking You to take them out of the world, but to keep them away from the evil one. | My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. |

(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) |
