John (4/4)

  • Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”
  • If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
  • This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.
  • If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.
  • Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.
  • Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.
  • But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
  • My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
  • Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
  • On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.”
  • This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
  • This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
  • Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
  • I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
  • You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
  • And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
  • And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
  • Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
  • For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
  • Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
  • I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
  • I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.
  • Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”
  • If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
  • When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.
