- Avoiding strife is an honor for a person,
But any fool will quarrel. - Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,”
- Keep the Sabbath day to treat it as holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. For six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; you shall not do any work that day, you or your son or your daughter, or your male slave or your female slave, or your ox, your donkey, or any of your cattle, or your resident who stays with you, so that your male slave and your female slave may rest as well as you.
- Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- As for the things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
- Establish my footsteps in Your word,
And do not let any wrongdoing have power over me. - One who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets,
But one who is trustworthy conceals a matter. - Unless the Lord builds a house,
They who build it labor in vain;
Unless the Lord guards a city,
The watchman stays awake in vain. - I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will advise you with My eye upon you. - Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
- Let love of the brothers and sisters continue. Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.
- Therefore know today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
- So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.
- If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.
- For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to rein in the whole body as well.
- Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered.
- But I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
- For the Lord loves justice
And does not abandon His godly ones;
They are protected forever,
But the descendants of the wicked will be eliminated. - The one who keeps His commandments remains in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He remains in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
- By faith even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who had promised.
- When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow!
- For You light my lamp;
The Lord my God illumines my darkness. - These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. And you shall repeat them diligently to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down, and when you get up.
- Watch the path of your feet,
And all your ways will be established. - ‘Return, faithless Israel,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not look at you in anger.
For I am gracious,’ declares the Lord;
‘I will not be angry forever.’
The end of all things is near; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
