And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you. Deuteronomy 8:5	Thus you could understand that the Lord, your God, was disciplining you, just like a father disciplines his son. Father learning punishment
