| But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. | Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family, and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you— better a neighbor nearby than a relative far away. | Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off. |

| Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. | Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. |
| Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. | Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. |

| Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. | As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. |
| Oh, that their hearts would be inclined to fear me and keep all my commands always, so that it might go well with them and their children forever! | O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! |
| But, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.” For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. | But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth. |
