Keep the Sabbath day to treat it as holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. For six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of the Lord your God; you shall not do any work that day, you or your son or your daughter, or your male slave or your female slave, or your ox, your donkey, or any of your cattle, or your resident who stays with you, so that your male slave and your female slave may rest as well as you. | Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee. May He grant you your heart’s desire And fulfill your whole plan! | Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. |
He will not allow your foot to slip; He who watches over you will not slumber. | He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. |
Repent and turn away from all your offenses, so that wrongdoing does not become a stumbling block to you. | Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. |
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. | For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. |
Hear, Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. | Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. |
Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.’ | After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. |
Not to us, Lord, not to us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, because of Your truth. | Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake. |
If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well. | If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. |
And you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. | And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee. |
But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. | But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. |
Salvation belongs to the Lord; May Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah | Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. |
Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have passed over me. | Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. |
Commit your works to the Lord, And your plans will be established. | Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. |
But make sure your statement is, ‘Yes, yes’ or ‘No, no’; anything beyond these is of evil origin. | But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. |
Let love of the brothers and sisters continue. Do not neglect hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it. | Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. |
For Your goodness is great to the heavens And Your truth to the clouds. | For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. |
Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. | Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. |
When you set your eyes on it, it is gone. For wealth certainly makes itself wings Like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. | Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. |
