- This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
- The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? - For so the Lord has commanded us:
‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,
That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ - Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive
To the voice of my supplications. - Be exalted, O God, above the heavens,
And Your glory above all the earth. - For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
- No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.
- For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
- But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
- Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
- Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
- My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you. - Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.
- But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and your “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment.
- With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! - But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
- Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
- Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. - Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
- Direct my steps by Your word,
And let no iniquity have dominion over me. - Ponder the path of your feet,
And let all your ways be established. - Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
- In You, O Lord, I put my trust;
Let me never be ashamed;
Deliver me in Your righteousness. - Let my mouth be filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all the day. - Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
