Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. | Take care that no one deceives himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise. |
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. | Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. |
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. | Therefore, since we also have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let’s rid ourselves of every obstacle and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with endurance the race that is set before us. |
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. | Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who wait for the Lord. |
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. | Therefore let’s make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience. |

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. | Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary. |
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. | Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. |
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. | My son, pay attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. They are not to escape from your sight; Keep them in the midst of your heart. |

Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. | Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be careful about what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in injustice or partiality, or in the taking of a bribe. |
