- And this is the testimony:
God gave us eternal life,

whoever does not believe in the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God rests upon him. - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life,
but an undisciplined tongue crushes the spirit. - For whoever finds me finds life
and receives favor from the Lord. - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift freely given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The good shepherd
lays down his life for the sheep. - Whoever heeds admonition is on the path to life,
but anyone who rejects correction goes astray. - No one can have greater love
than to lay down his life for his friends. - Listen, my son, and take my words to heart,
and the years of your life will be multiplied. - While physical training has some value, the benefits of godliness are unlimited, since it holds out promise not only for this life but also for the life to come.
