- The vine is dried up
and the fig tree is withered;
the pomegranate, the palm and the apple tree—
all the trees of the field—are dried up.
Surely the people’s joy
is withered away. - Blessings crown the head of the righteous,
but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. - The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value. - I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. - May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
- The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
- “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- Better the little that the righteous have
than the wealth of many wicked;
for the power of the wicked will be broken,
but the Lord upholds the righteous. - Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
- The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
- The lips of the righteous know what finds favor,
but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. - I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
- The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
- But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
- I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
- He builds his lofty palace in the heavens
and sets its foundation on the earth;
he calls for the waters of the sea
and pours them out over the face of the land—
the Lord is his name. - The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil. - The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it. - The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever. - Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain. - Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
- Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers. - Who has done this and carried it through,
calling forth the generations from the beginning?
I, the Lord—with the first of them
and with the last—I am he. - The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.Next verse!With image
