- Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.
- Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.

and through whom we live. - Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.
- For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
- But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.
- For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!

He delights in every detail of their lives. - The rich can pay a ransom for their lives,
but the poor won’t even get threatened. - Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
- Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

so that I may honor you. - The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.
- Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.
- And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life.
- Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all!
- And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
- Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
- Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Hold firmly to the word of life.
- But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,
‘People do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” - Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever. - So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
- The high and lofty one who lives in eternity,
the Holy One, says this:
“I live in the high and holy place
with those whose spirits are contrite and humble.
I restore the crushed spirit of the humble
and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts.”
