| Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. | If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? |
| And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. | And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. |

| And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. | And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. |
| Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. | He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. |
| And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. | And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also. |

| For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. | For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. |
| Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers over all wrongs. | Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins. |
