- For your kindness extends to the heavens;
your faithfulness, to the skies. - And now, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways. Encourage one another. Be of one mind and live in peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
- Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with a joy that is indescribable and glorious. For you are achieving the goal of your faith, that is, the salvation of your souls.

and nations in return for your life. - Brethren, we must always give thanks to God for you, and it is only right that we do so. For your faith grows ever more, and the love that all of you have for one another continues to increase.
- Anyone who has received my commandments
and observes them
is the one who loves me.
And whoever loves me
will be loved by my Father,
and I will love him
and reveal myself to him. - Remain sober and alert, for your enemy the devil is on the prowl like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
- However, each one of you should love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife should respect her husband.
- Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
but to your name give glory
because of your kindness and faithfulness. - This is what love is:
not that we have loved God,
but that he loved us
and sent his Son as expiation for our sins. - However, you, dear friends, must build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God as you await our Lord Jesus Christ in his mercy, who will grant you eternal life.
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
- O Lord, let your kindness rest upon us,
for we have placed our hope in you. - But as for you, man of God, you must shun all this. Rather, pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, fortitude, and gentleness.
- When I realized that my foot was slipping,
your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. - This is how we know what love is:
he laid down his life for us,
and we in turn must be prepared
to lay down our lives for our brethren. - Therefore, prepare your minds for action. Be calm and fix your hopes completely on the grace that you will be granted at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- We know that God makes all things work together for good for those who love him and who are called according to his purpose.
- Finally, all of you should be united in spirit, sympathetic, filled with love for one another, compassionate, and humble.
- And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a sacrificial offering whose fragrance is pleasing to God.
- Rend your hearts and not your garments,
and turn back to the Lord, your God.
For he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and always prepared to relent from punishing.
