He protects the lives of his godly people
and rescues them from the power of the wicked. - For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.
- Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
its jealousy as enduring as the grave.
Love flashes like fire,
the brightest kind of flame. - If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
- And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
- Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good!
His faithful love endures forever. - The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. - He loves whatever is just and good;
the unfailing love of the Lord fills the earth. - But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.
- If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
- I love the Lord because he hears my voice
and my prayer for mercy.
Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath!
