Luke 14:10 (2/3)

  • Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry.
  • The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
    Because He has anointed Me
    To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed.
  • I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.
  • Blessed are you when men hate you,
    And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
  • But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
  • Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.
  • And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
  • Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.
  • Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
  • Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
  • A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
  • No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the light.
  • But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”
  • Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
  • Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
  • For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.
  • And said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For he who is least among you all will be great.”
  • And heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
  • Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.
  • So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
  • So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
  • If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!
  • But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
  • For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.
  • Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Bible verse of the day

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
