Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. | Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to all those on whom his favor rests. |
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. | Jesus replied, “Blessed, rather, are those who hear the word of God and obey it!” |
And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you. | Cure the sick who are there, and say, ‘The kingdom of God has come unto you.’ |
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. | For this day in the city of David there has been born to you a Savior who is Christ, the Lord. |

Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. | Give to everyone who begs from you, and do not demand the return of what is yours from the one who has taken it. |

For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. | For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. |
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. | Therefore, I say to you: ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you. |
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. | But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for I bring you good news of great joy for all the people.” |

Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. | And he did the same with the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be poured out for you.” |
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. | He cried out, “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.” And with these words he breathed his last. |
