- And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
- Teach me your way, O Lord,
that I may walk in your truth;
unite my heart to fear your name. - The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. - Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.
- So Jesus answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.”
- I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me;
I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.
I said, “Here I am, here I am,”
to a nation that was not called by my name. - With my whole heart I seek you;
let me not wander from your commandments! - But you, O Lord, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head. - Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?
- Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.
- Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
- I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have given me life. - In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. - “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.
- I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
- I myself did not know him, but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
- Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
- And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”
- I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I set your rules before me. - I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. - Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
- Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.
- To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter. - But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
- Keep steady my steps according to your promise,
and let no iniquity get dominion over me.
