Blessed are you when the people hate you, and when they exclude you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man. Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of mankind among them are fully given to do evil. Ecclesiastes 8:11	When a crime is not punished quickly, people feel it is safe to do wrong. sin heart punishment
He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, without the possibility that mankind will find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. Ecclesiastes 3:11	Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. creation understanding life
So having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now proclaiming to mankind that all people everywhere are to repent. Acts 17:30	God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him. repentance conversion forgiveness
But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction. 1 Timothy 6:9	But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. money greed materialism
How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have performed for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of mankind! Psalm 31:19	How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. trust fear blessing
Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:15-16	No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. evangelism worship goodness
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by people. Matthew 5:13	You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full. Matthew 6:16	And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and in a godly manner in the present age. Titus 2:11-12	For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God. grace righteousness salvation
So then, while we have opportunity, let’s do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith. Galatians 6:10	Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith. gentleness neighbor goodness
And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you. 1 Thessalonians 3:12	And may the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow and overflow, just as our love for you overflows. love neighbor relationships
The vine has dried up And the fig tree has withered; The pomegranate, the palm also, and the apple tree, All the trees of the field have dried up. Indeed, joy has dried up From the sons of mankind. Joel 1:12	The grapevines have dried up, and the fig trees have withered. The pomegranate trees, palm trees, and apple trees— all the fruit trees—have dried up. But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
